Ultrasounds

Ultrasounds

Ultrasound is a safe, noninvasive imaging technique that allows your provider to evaluate the reproductive organs and monitor pregnancy without the use of radiation. Whether you’re experiencing pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, or are expecting a baby, ultrasound plays an important role in diagnosing conditions and guiding your care.

At Gemini OBGYN, we offer in-office pelvic and obstetric ultrasounds to provide timely answers and personalized treatment recommendations. Performing imaging on-site allows our providers to review your results quickly, explain the findings, and determine the next steps in your care without unnecessary delays.

Gynecologic ultrasounds may be used to evaluate concerns such as pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, or other reproductive health conditions. During pregnancy, obstetric ultrasounds help monitor fetal growth and development, confirm gestational age, assess fetal anatomy, and evaluate your baby’s well-being throughout each stage of pregnancy.

Most ultrasound examinations are painless and require little to no preparation, depending on the type of study being performed. Your provider will explain the procedure beforehand and answer any questions to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your appointment.

Whether you live in Pembroke Pines, Weston, Miramar, Davie, Cooper City, Plantation, Southwest Ranches, or nearby Broward County communities, Gemini OBGYN is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging as part of your comprehensive women’s healthcare.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why might I need a pelvic ultrasound?

A pelvic ultrasound may be recommended to evaluate symptoms such as pelvic pain, heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, infertility concerns, or other gynecologic conditions. It provides detailed images that help your provider make an accurate diagnosis.

Are ultrasounds safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Obstetric ultrasounds have been used safely for decades and do not use radiation. They allow your provider to monitor your baby’s growth, development, heartbeat, and overall health throughout pregnancy.

Do I need to prepare for my ultrasound?

Preparation depends on the type of ultrasound being performed. Some pelvic ultrasounds require a full bladder, while others do not. Our office will provide specific instructions before your appointment so you know exactly what to expect.
